The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced senior partnerships leader to take ownership of our Partnerships & New Business function. This is a role for someone who leads with confidence. You will step into an established team with a strong portfolio of partnerships, including major brand relationships, and be expected to hit the ground running. You will drive commercial performance, provide clear direction to the team, and ensure excellent delivery across a busy events calendar. The right person will bring commercial expertise and the leadership presence to build trust quickly - across the team, with partners, and at a senior level within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial Performance
- Deliver revenue targets across brand partnerships, corporate events, ancillary partnerships, charity programmes, and activation delivery.
- Drive partnership retention, renewals, and upselling opportunities.
- Manage departmental budgets and financial performance.
- Oversee fundraising campaign performance across all events.
- Partnership & Campaign Delivery
- Lead partnership delivery across all events, ensuring campaigns, activations, and branding are executed to a high standard and on schedule.
- Be the account manager of key partners, responsible for delivery of their campaigns & activations.
- Be a senior point of contact for other partners across the portfolio, supporting team members in their delivery.
- Collaborate with internal teams to maximise campaign effectiveness, participant experience, and event success.
- Oversee the partnership contracting process across the team.
- New Business
- Oversee the delivery of the new business strategy against annual targets and longer-term ambitions.
- Support proposal development, rights valuation, pitch presentations, and activation concepts.
- Ensure seamless onboarding of new partners from contract through to campaign launch.
- Team Leadership
- Lead, develop, and mentor the Partnerships & New Business team.
- Foster a collaborative, creative, and commercially focused culture.
- Manage team structure, workload allocation, and performance.
- Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies.
- Senior Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain relationships with key sponsors, suppliers, charities, and corporate clients.
- Provide regular performance updates and strategic insights to the Senior Management Team.
- Contribute to issue management response as required.
What We Are Looking For
- 8+ years' experience in sponsorship, partnerships, experiential marketing, hospitality, PR, or a related sector (sports industry experience preferred).
- 5+ years' line management experience.
- Strong commercial acumen, with proven experience managing budgets and delivering against revenue targets.
- Contract negotiation and stakeholder management experience.
- Experience delivering integrated marketing and activation campaigns.
- Knowledge of GDPR and data-driven decision-making.
- A confident, credible leader who can step into an established team and build trust quickly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Monday.com or similar platforms is a plus.
