A.S.E Computer Services Limited is a small business in Harrogate. We are agile, professional and innovative.
Our work environment includes:
- Modern office setting
- Growth opportunities
I am delighted to announce that a new position of 2nd Line Support Engineer / project implementer has arisen at A.S.E. Computers, a long established IT Support and Consultancy firm on the outskirts of Harrogate. We have an exciting range of clients with fascinating IT needs and a customer base mostly local to the North Yorkshire area; however, some are further afield.
The role is to support the existing team and client base, maintaining their IT security and helping them see IT as an asset, not a cost. Helping them leverage the technology they already have to the best value within their business and investing in new solutions as and when the need arises.
Working to tight schedules is often inflicted upon us by the nature of the job, and the ability to prioritise and work under pressure is essential.
Working in a lovely part of North Yorkshire with very easy access to Leeds, Harrogate and the A1. The office environment is fresh and friendly with plenty of parking available. Local shops just over a mile away and the wonderful town of Harrogate in just a few minutes further.
Hybrid working will be considered for the successful candidate; however, it is best to consider this as an office-based role. Fruit is provided daily along with teas, coffee and other refreshments.
Product knowledge of the following is essential:
- Microsoft 365
- Windows - Server and its deployed technologies
- Windows Desktop Operating Systems
Product knowledge of the following would be certainly helpful, but understand that you may have other vendor experience. However, the ability to get to grips with unfamiliar technologies will be essential:
- Sophos - Hardware and Software technologies
- Ubiquiti Unifi - Wifi and Switches
- SSL
An awareness of software solutions like the following and how they integrate into the clients' IT Systems will be useful:
- Sage
- MS Exchange / Email Clients
- MS IIS
- and others
A.S.E Computers has also been steered into peripheral technologies not directly IT such as CCTV solutions. Involvement in the integration of these solutions into the ones more familiar with above would also be of value.
A keen interest in IT often comes along with this type of role, a clean driving licence is essential, and the ability to communicate fluently in both digital and spoken English is an essential attribute.
Gaining accreditations pertinent to the product portfolio will be essential, and training will be encouraged/provided where appropriate to the technology, client or product. Some accreditations are mandatory for A.S.E. Computers Partner status with specific vendors.
The role is mostly office hours based 9-5 M-F; however, there will be times installing hardware or heading to site to troubleshoot and resolve problems may be required. At A.S.E Computers, we like to mix it up a little so that you don't just end up all day every day staring at a computer screen. We may be looking at new buildings requiring site surveys and consultancy skills, we might be involved in large IT infrastructure moves or flying overseas to install an IT Solution prepared in our workshop space in Harrogate. The ideal candidate would find it advantageous to be able to participate in these activities to break the sometimes mundane role of the day-to-day work.
Packages to suit the individual will be tailored to the successful candidate based on a variety of factors to their suitability of employment.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £31,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
