Based in Dublin, Ireland, a leading infrastructure contractor is looking for a Materials Buyer to support a high-profile Dublin-based roads framework. This is a development role that offers full training and support, together with clear career progression to Senior Buyer where you will manage your own projects.

Key duties will include:

  • Support a procurement team in delivering a high-profile roads framework.
  • Manage the day-to-day procurement of materials across framework projects.
  • Support in managing parts of the subcontract procurement process.
  • Work with project teams to deliver procurement requirements.
  • Provide procurement administration support for the team.
  • Ensure savings, rebates and compliance are achieved in line with project strategies.

Buying for a high-profile roads framework across Dublin, with 10 years potential future work pipeline. You will be placing 10-15 order requisitions per day, using their bespoke MRP system. Mainly buying sand, cement, timber, pipes, precast concrete, aggregates, and rebar from mainly building merchants.

Candidate Requirements

You will currently be working as an Assistant Buyer or Buyer, with at least 2 years of experience in buying civil engineering or construction materials. You will be working in the construction industry; our client is open to candidates from contractors, subcontractors or suppliers who are used to managing multiple projects. As this is a development role, you will be keen and enthusiastic for training and progression and comfortable working with operational teams to discuss their procurement requirements.
