A Leading Construction Contractor is looking for a Senior Buyer to join their team in Warrington to support a small project buying team.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process for materials.
- Lead the operational buying of materials and plant across national construction projects.
- Ensure compliance with preferred supplier agreements and maximise the use of frameworks.
- Delivery stakeholder requirements, acting as a key link between project teams and the supply chain.
- Ensure procurement strategies are aligned with company procedures.
- Support work winning teams with sourcing material quotes for bids.
- Support with strategic procurement and category management activities.
- Deliver value for money, and support the successful delivery of cost savings and rebates.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a UK construction company who are very stable, cash rich, family run contractor. You will be part of an expanding construction group, who recently acquired a competitor to strengthen its capability in infrastructure delivery across the UK.
This is a great chance to lead a small team of buyers who will manage a variety of building and infrastructure projects across the UK, working closely with the Supply Chain Manager to help shape the supply chain strategy.
Candidate Requirements:
- 3 years' procurement construction materials experience.
- Currently working in the construction environment as a Buyer looking for a step up.
- Recent experience of construction or infrastructure projects.
- Strong negotiation, supplier management and communication skills.
