We are seeking an ambitious and results-driven Business Development Manager to lead our initiatives in London, the Midlands and the East of England within the high-rise and façades sector. In this role, you will promote our innovative APG products and services, identify new business opportunities, and develop strong relationships with key contractors and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of the construction industry and particularly façades. Duties Include:
- Promoting the APG range of products and services via specification through design
- Identify new business opportunities, including new markets, new clients and new partnerships.
- Confidently present our range of CPD presentations.
- Work in unison with the BDM and RSM teams in order to secure business through managing your project pipeline by creating specifications that can develop into sales opportunities.
- Attending relevant conferences and forums which will help you to develop up to date knowledge and understanding and create networking opportunities.
- Possess a strong understanding of the company’s products and the competition in the industry.
- Create new and improve existing relationships with key Sub and Main Contractors.
- Carry out site visits to offer pre and post-product sales support.
- Have a clear understanding of our key markets, mainly façade and high-rise buildings.
- Have a competent level of understanding with respect to Building Regs and Guidance Documents.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Maintains a good level of understanding of the construction industry relevant to APG products.
- Demonstrates proactive management of the region.
- The ability to read construction drawings to a competent level.
- Being able to problem solve, adapt and overcome challenges.
- Has excellent communication skills – ability to communicate effectively at all levels, verbally, in writing and in a group setting at least to CPD standard.
- Demonstrates and promotes openness; welcoming, listening to, and accommodating others’ input.
- Excellent team worker and good networker.
- Strong influencing and interpersonal skills at all levels and across all functions within and outside the organisation.
- Proven track record of meeting challenging sales targets.
- Ability to show a reasonable level of competency within construction, with a focus on through walls and façades.
