We’re dedicated to opening our doors to both emerging and established writers. We regularly produce work by writers at all career stages, and want to ensure writers feel they are able to develop their practice and have work read regularly.

We will now be running two yearly open submission windows – two opportunities for us to read new work, both by writers who are new to PPP and by writers who have written for us before.

The first window for emerging writers, 18+ who are Scottish or Scotland-based, is open now until Monday 3 August. This is for writers who have not yet had a professional theatrical production or commission. We count a ‘professional production’ as a play that has met a paying audience in full, paid at industry rates.

You might have written for the stage before in scratch or rehearsed reading formats, this might be your first time writing for the stage, or you might be returning to writing after some time away. Regardless, we’d love to hear from you!
