Description of Role

The Site Controller is an important role partnering and challenging key stakeholders to meet strategic objectives in Contract Logistics. Overseeing the accuracy and timeliness of finance transactions, the role holder is responsible for providing financial and management information to strict deadlines, delivering budgets and forecasts, and providing insight on financial performance to support decision‑making.

This role will be based at our site in Doncaster, 5 days per week.

General Responsibilities

  • Delivery of accurate, relevant, reliable and timely financial and management reporting in Contract Logistics.
  • Ensuring robust finance and control processes are embedded, instigating continuous improvement and best practice reviews.
  • Compliance of financial processes and reporting with Company Policies, Financial Regulations, and Statutory Requirements.
  • Supporting and challenging key stakeholders to deliver strategic and financial objectives.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Deliver accurate financial and management reporting to agreed deadlines and investigate variances.
  • Provide clear, forward‑thinking insight on financial performance and decision‑making information.
  • Business‑partner the ALT and Product teams, ensuring drivers for achieving business targets are understood and applied.
  • Coordinate and manage the budget and financial forecasts, engaging with the business to take ownership of deliverables.
  • Take ownership of customer‑level reporting and support the operation in delivering key contractual KPI’s.
  • Support the business with financial strategy and decision‑making processes.
  • Ensure all reporting and financial records comply with Company Policies, Financial Regulations, Statutory Requirements, and best practice; continuously develop robust financial controls.
  • Identify and support the business to manage financial risks and maximise opportunities.
  • Document and review business processes to enhance internal controls.
  • Drive continuous improvement in controlling costs, supporting strategic objectives, and improving business performance.

  • Desirable: hands‑on experience with SAP/FACT, preferably including business warehouse or business intelligence modules.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Financial acumen (graduate degree level or equivalent).
  • Relevant experience in a financial reporting role.
  • Desirable: experience within warehousing or an industry‑facing role, demonstrating a clear ability to manage and challenge stakeholders.
