As Operations Manager you will be a key member of the site management team, responsible for all operational activities within the warehouse. You will influence site financial performance, health and safety, customer satisfaction, and communication.
Main Responsibilities- Ensure a safe working environment, compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental standards, and Maersk safety procedures.
- Set, meet, and exceed KPI’s in safety, quality, and productivity; seek improvements to efficiency, performance, and cost reduction.
- Lead, manage, coach, and develop the team to meet productivity and performance targets while maintaining high safety and quality.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives with stakeholders across the site and business.
- Maintain working relationships with customers and their associates to achieve agreed quality and performance standards.
- Contribute to budget setting and site financial performance.
- Plan and manage resources to meet customer and business requirements.
- Manage inbound, outbound, and internal stock movements; resolve discrepancies or issues.
- Ensure compliance with goods movement regulations on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Develop the team through succession planning and ongoing people development.
- Handle employment issues including absenteeism, disciplinaries, and grievances.
- Continuously learn and develop your knowledge and skill set.
- Experience managing a warehouse operation.
- Strong understanding of supply chain and logistics processes.
- Extensive experience delivering Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
- Experience managing and developing a team.
- Experience with KPI and budgetary responsibility.
- Excellent verbal, numerical, and written communication skills.
- Computer literate including Warehouse Management System experience.
- Experience in a customer-facing role with communication at all levels.
- Ability to build partnership and collaborative working with colleagues, external agencies and third parties.
- Knowledge and experience of a bonded warehouse and customs understanding.
- IOSH/NEBOSH Qualification.
- International Transport Manager CPC Qualification.
