We combine thoughtful design, technical fit expertise, and cultural awareness to create clothing that truly fits—and represents—real people.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Fashion Designer & Inclusive Fit Consultant with strong experience in petite and plus-size fashion. This is a hybrid role combining creative design with technical fit consultancy. You will be instrumental in building collections that reflect the diversity of the UK and international markets, ensuring garments fit beautifully across body types, heights, and proportions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Collection Development
    • Design seasonal collections and core wardrobe pieces tailored to petite and plus-size customers.
    • Create inclusive designs that consider UK and global cultural preferences.
    • Develop detailed tech packs, CADs, and garment specifications.
    • Source fabrics suitable for UK weather conditions and international markets.
  • Fit Strategy & Technical Consulting
    • Lead fit development across extended size ranges (including petite proportions).
    • Build and refine UK-relevant size charts aligned with global standards.
    • Conduct fit sessions and liaise with pattern cutters and garment technologists.
    • Oversee grading strategies for multiple body shapes and proportions.
  • Customer Insight & Product Improvement
    • Analyse customer feedback, returns, and fit data to continuously improve products.
    • Ensure designs address real-world fit challenges (e.g., shorter torsos, fuller bust, varying hip ratios).
    • Collaborate with marketing to ensure inclusive representation in campaigns.
  • Startup & Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with founders on brand direction and product roadmap.
    • Collaborate with UK and international manufacturers and suppliers.
    • Support product launches with styling and design input.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Inclusive Fit Knowledge
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in global fashion designs.
    • Proven experience addressing fit challenges across diverse body types and ethnicities.
    • Ability to develop scalable sizing solutions for a global customer base.
    • Understanding of proportional differences (height, curves, body distribution).
  • Industry Knowledge (UK Market)
    • Familiarity with UK high street and inclusive fashion landscape (e.g., ASOS, Boohoo, Marks & Spencer).
    • Awareness of UK consumer expectations around fit, quality, and pricing.
  • Soft Skills
    • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced startup.
    • High attention to detail with a problem-solving mindset.
    • Cultural awareness and sensitivity to diverse customer needs.
    • Self-motivated and comfortable working remotely or in a hybrid setup.
  • Technical Expertise
    • Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in petite and/or plus-size design.
    • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and/or 3D design tools (e.g., CLO 3D) would be added advantage.
    • Solid understanding of garment construction, pattern cutting, and grading.
    • Knowledge of UK sizing standards and international conversion.
  • Desirable (Nice to Have)
    • Experience working with UK-based garment technologists and factories.
    • Knowledge of sustainable and ethical sourcing practices.
    • Experience with virtual sampling and digital fitting tools.
    • Understanding of UK retail compliance and product standards.
