We are seeking a reliable, friendly, and professional Customer Assistant to join our petrol station team. The successful candidate will work primarily night shifts and will be the first point of contact for customers, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and efficient service environment. This role is ideal for someone who is flexible, responsible, and comfortable working independently during quieter hours.
The Customer Assistant will be responsible for assisting customers with enquiries, processing transactions, maintaining forecourt and store standards, and supporting the smooth running of night-time operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:- Greeting customers politely and providing assistance as required
- Processing fuel and shop purchases accurately using the cash register
- Providing clear and accurate information about products and services
- Maintaining cleanliness and presentation of the shop and forecourt
- Restocking shelves and ensuring displays remain tidy and organised
- Monitoring the premises to maintain safety and security during night hours
- Handling customer queries or complaints professionally and calmly
- Assisting with stock control, deliveries, and stockroom organisation
- Supporting promotional displays and basic visual merchandising
- Adhering to all health, safety, and company procedures at all times
- Previous retail, petrol station, or customer service experience is beneficial but not essential; full training will be provided
- Strong communication skills and a polite, approachable manner
- Ability to work night shifts and demonstrate flexibility with working hours, including weekends if required
