We\βre now looking for an established Senior Womenswear Designer, ideally with experience in woven, nightwear and jersey, to work in our Manchester HQ.
Key roles and responsibilities:
- Creating and developing original design ideas and concepts.
- Working with key suppliers to source relevant or new fabrics.
- Creating design packs quickly and efficiently, with all key information included.
- Leading trend and colour forecasts and presentations.
- Managing and developing junior members of the team
- Liaising with Account Managers/ buyers regularly in order to ensure the development arrives in a timely manner.
- Liaising with factories and overseas offices.
- Organising work travel with suppliers and creating sourcing packs for development on the trip.
- Range reviews with Directors
- Work to departmental deadlines and critical paths to ensure product is supplied within an effective timeframe to the customer.
- Managing expenses and returns.
- Plan and execute inspirations sourcing trips, including opportunity for overseas travel
- Leading WGSN updates to the wider business as well as trend information from social channels, e.g., Tik Tok Instagram and TV Shows.
- Keeping on top of sample and organising storage spaces
- Ownership of the Design ranges and development.
Skills required:
- Commercial / high street design experience preferred
- Experience of international travel, including supplier meeting, sourcing trips and comp shops
- +6 years minimum background in design
- Experience working within Womenswear.
- Excellent understanding of Illustrator and/or Photoshop
- Confident at CAD work.
- Creative and trend driven with an eye for colour and fabric
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Team player and able to build relationships
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Manage challenges in a calm and positive manner.
- Understand the different customer handwritings and adapt designs accordingly.
- Work quickly and efficiently under time pressures.
- Proactive nature to work with different part of the business, e.g. QC, Buyer and external customers.
- Leadership skills
- Excellent fabric knowledge and understanding of production.
