We are now looking for a Junior Buyer to work alongside the womenswear team (focussing on nightwear and jersey) in our Manchester HQ.

Key roles and responsibilities:
  • Working with the buyer in setting and delivering the strategy for Ladieswear
  • Ensuring we have the right product/right price/right time within the range assortment for maximum sales
  • Negotiating cost prices with supplier base to achieve department targets
  • Working with team to manage and drive the ladieswear critical path - from product development through to shipments
  • Management of BAAs
  • Analysing weekly trade report and identifying actions
  • Regular comp shops to identify new and missed opportunities in the range
  • To actively participate in meetings including sign offs, strategies, weekly trade
  • Managing own categories within ladieswear (categories will be dependant on experience)
  • Regular travel to visit factory base and drive newness selecting from showrooms, building relationships, negotiating best possible costs, units, lead times
  • Attending weekly fit sessions with QC and design to establish best fits and quality
Skills:
  • Relevant buying experience in the fashion industry to a similar level
  • Operating at Junior Buyer level or working towards Junior Buyer level for a minimum of 1 year. Nightwear and jersey experience preferred
  • Great communication skills - you will be co-ordinating teams such as Merchandising, Design, QC, Studio
  • Commercially aware - how to interpret and adapt market trends to the customer to maximise sales
  • Keen interest in fashion and trends
  • Ability to work independently to tight deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills
  • Driven with a strong sense of initiative
