Role Description
This is a full-time or part-time, on-site Experienced Wig Specialist role based in our Kensington studio. The Experienced Wig Specialist will provide personalized consultations, assess client needs, and recommend suitable wig styles, textures, and cap constructions for both fashion and hair loss clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include precise wig fitting, customization, cutting and styling, lace tinting, plucking, and securing units for a natural and comfortable finish. The role also involves educating clients on aftercare, maintenance, and styling techniques, as well as supporting bespoke orders by taking measurements, documenting specifications, and collaborating with the production team. The specialist will maintain a welcoming, confidential, and inclusive environment, uphold high hygiene and quality standards, and contribute to visual merchandising and overall studio presentation.
Qualifications
- Strong technical expertise in wig fitting, lace application, customization, and styling, including experience with lace front and full lace units.
- Proficiency working with high-quality human hair, including cutting, coloring (preferred), heat styling, and maintaining hair health and longevity.
- Demonstrated experience supporting clients with hair loss, medical hair concerns, or significant hair changes with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Excellent client-facing skills, including active listening, clear communication, and the ability to provide confident style guidance and aftercare education.
- Proven ability to work in a luxury or high-end salon, studio, or boutique environment, with a strong focus on service standards and discretion.
- Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and organization, with the ability to manage multiple appointments and priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Flexibility to work a part-time or full-time schedule, including some evenings and weekends to meet client demand.
- Relevant professional training or certification in hairdressing, cosmetology, or wig-making is highly desirable.
- Experience with bespoke or custom wig orders, including taking head measurements and documenting detailed specifications, is an advantage.
