Our client is a busy and highly regarded furniture restoration workshop based in London, completing around 500 restoration projects each year. They specialise in the restoration of antique furniture and fine cabinetry, combining traditional craftsmanship with exceptional attention to detail. They are now looking to recruit an experienced Senior Furniture Restorer to join their skilled and dedicated team.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced furniture restoration professional to take on a senior position within a respected restoration workshop. The successful candidate will assess furniture, develop restoration plans and carry out high-quality repairs while supporting junior team members and helping to maintain the highest standards of workmanship.

What will your role look like?

  • Assess furniture and create appropriate restoration plans
  • Carry out high-quality restoration work, including re-glueing, refinishing, veneer repairs and structural restoration
  • Supervise, mentor and support junior members of the workshop team
  • Liaise with clients, providing expert advice and regular progress updates
  • Maintain accurate records of restoration work undertaken
  • Ensure every project meets the highest standards of craftsmanship, authenticity and quality
  • Organise workloads effectively to meet customer expectations and project deadlines

Are you the right person for the job?

  • Minimum five years' experience in furniture restoration
  • An accomplished and well-rounded furniture restorer capable of working independently
  • Excellent woodworking, cabinetry, joinery and finishing skills
  • Strong knowledge of wood species, traditional construction methods and historical furniture styles
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with a proactive and positive approach
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a genuine passion for furniture restoration
  • Reliable, organised and self-motivated
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Own comprehensive set of high-quality hand tools
