A-Gas is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the global group team to provide technical leadership and support to engineering teams across the full lifecycle of plant projects (from specification, design, construction, operation, maintenance, to decommissioning) within the Electrical Engineering discipline. The role acts as Group Engineering representative embedded within regional project teams to ensure the use of company best practices, re-use of existing designs where advantageous, and standardisation of regional designs across the Group. The position requires interaction with engineering teams worldwide and may involve travel to different regions.
A key part of the role is to provide expertise and advice to regional engineering teams on electrical designs for new and existing plant/equipment, ATEX zoning and inspections, electrical/safety circuit testing, and peer reviewing/checking of designs or documentation.
Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership and guidance across the full lifecycle of electrical engineering projects (specification, design, construction, operation, maintenance, decommissioning).
- Act as Group Engineering representative within regional project teams to promote best practices and standardise regional designs.
- Advise regional engineering teams on electrical designs for new and existing plant/equipment, including ATEX zoning, inspections, electrical/safety circuit testing, and design/document peer reviews.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams and regional sites; travel as required.
- Degree level Electrical Engineering or other relevant qualification(s).
- Expert understanding of electrical engineering design and application of processes; comprehensive understanding of project design processes including electrical safety.
- Extensive and proven experience in operational/chemical/processing environments.
- Detailed knowledge of industrial electrical standards and working knowledge of ATEX and DSEAR regulations, including experience of electrical design within a flammable zone.
- Experience delivering engineering projects from concept to delivery; willingness to travel to different regions.
- Experience with pressurised liquefied gas systems and chemical processing plant lifecycle management.
- CompEx EX01-EX04 and/or EX12 or EX14; previous experience working in different global regions.
