This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced maintenance technician to join our team in Cumbernauld. The role involves contributing to the effective and efficient performance of the factory, warehouse sites and associated systems, including fire alarm, sprinkler, gas, water, electricity and effluent monitoring.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Adhering to safe working practices.
  • Providing building maintenance and repair services to a high standard, either hands-on or by organising and controlling contractors.
  • Liaising with various departments across the site and planning works to maintain building standards.
  • Assisting the factory with plant inspections in accordance with the planned maintenance system.
  • Removing, reclaiming or discarding materials in an environmentally friendly way.
  • Working within agreed revenue expenditure for contractors and materials.
  • Liaising with building inspectors and insurance assessors when necessary.
  • Carrying out all duties in accordance with safe working practices and factory hygiene standards.
  • Producing detailed written reports, schedules, inspections and costings as required.
  • Ensuring contractors comply with company rules on contractor control.
  • Maintaining Pollution Prevention & Control permits within the legislative timetable, monitoring and controlling emissions, discharges, waste and other environmental impacts on an ongoing basis.

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience in building trades (plumbing, decorating, electrical, etc.).
  • Experience working in a multi-skilled environment.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance systems and processes.
  • Experience of contractor control and legislative requirements for Safe Systems of Work and Permits/Hot Permits to Work.
  • The ability to learn quickly and efficiently.
  • Adaptability to changing skill demands.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team without close supervision.
  • Flexibility to undertake any competent task, including out-of-hours work when required.
  • Full driving licence.
