What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a Commercial Assistant to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our Commercial strategies for the Value Retail, Discounters, and Ecommerce channels. As our Commercial Assistant you will be instrumental in influencing the delivery of our core business objectives:

  • Market Share Growth: Drive market share growth in Value Retail, Discounters, and E-commerce channels through effective promotional planning and execution.
  • Shopper Marketing & Digital Shelf Optimisation: Optimise in store Shopper Marketing and the Digital Shelf to enhance visibility, availability, and conversion across all retail spaces.
  • Distribution & New Listings: Expand distribution and secure new listings within key Value Retail, Discounters, and Ecommerce accounts.

As our Commercial Assistant you will…

  • Commercial Support - Support the National Account Managers for Value Retail, Discounters, and Ecommerce channels with key projects, customer presentations, and administrative tasks.
  • Budget Management - Compose and maintain retail sector budget trackers, providing regular spend and forecast updates on trade marketing and promotional budgets to ensure spend is in line with expectations. Raise Purchase Orders as required.
  • Promotional & Activation Planning - Own and maintain the promotional calendar for all Value Retail, Discounters, and Ecommerce accounts, ensuring all internal stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, Supply Chain) are updated on upcoming activity.
  • Digital Shelf Management - Support the Ecommerce team by conducting regular audits of our product pages across retailer websites. Ensure content (images, titles, descriptions, pricing) is accurate, consistent, and optimised for customer experience and search.
  • Sales Data & Performance Analysis - Collate and analyse sales data from retailer portals to track performance against forecasts, identify trends, and support the commercial team with regular reporting and insights.
  • Collaboration - Regular interaction with the wider Commercial team, Marketing, and Supply Chain, working collaboratively across the business to optimise effectiveness and ensure seamless execution of plans.

What you’ll bring

  • Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across different departments.
  • Organised Individual: Highly organised with an ability to work flexibly, manage multiple priorities, and react to a fast-paced commercial environment.
  • Analytical Skills: Comfortable working with data to pull out key insights and support commercial decisions.
  • Team Player: A collaborative mindset, comfortable working both individually and as part of a team.
  • Technical Skills: High level of proficiency across G-Suite and Microsoft products, particularly Excel / Google Sheets for data analysis and tracking.
  • High Personal Standards: Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail are essential.

  • Commercial Acumen: An understanding of the UK retail landscape, particularly the Value Retail, Discounters, and Ecommerce channels.
  • Budget Management: Experience in maintaining a commercial budget or trade spend tracker.
  • Ecommerce Platforms: Familiarity with retailer portals like Amazon Vendor Central or other similar platforms.
  • Data Analysis: Experience using sales data (e.g., Nielsen, Kantar, or retailer-specific data) to create reports.
