Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is eager to develop their career within a supportive and experienced business.

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of civil engineering projects from inception through to final account. Working alongside Project Managers and Site Teams, you will ensure projects are delivered commercially, contractually and financially in line with company objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administration and management of NEC4 contracts.
  • Preparation, submission and agreement of applications, valuations, compensation events and final accounts.
  • Measurement and valuation of works.
  • Cost reporting, forecasting and budget management.
  • Subcontract procurement and commercial management.
  • Preparation and management of contractual correspondence.
  • Liaising with clients, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
  • Supporting continuous improvement within the commercial department.

Essential Requirements

  • You must currently be residing in England and hold a full UK Driving Licence.
  • Experience working under NEC4 contracts.
  • Good knowledge and experience of measurement within civil engineering projects.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • A positive attitude with a genuine willingness to learn and develop professionally.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Site travel where applicable.
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience using CEMAR contract management software.
  • Experience using FastDraft communication software.
  • Previous experience working within the civil engineering sector.
  • Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent).
