Location: Bolton & North West (Office & Site Based)

AE Yates Civil Engineering Ltd is a well-established and respected civil engineering contractor, delivering high-quality infrastructure projects across the Northwest and beyond. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of civil engineering projects from inception through to final account. Working alongside Project Managers and Site Teams, you will ensure projects are delivered commercially, contractually and financially in line with company objectives.

  • Preparation, submission and agreement of applications, valuations, compensation events and final accounts.
  • Subcontract procurement and commercial management.
  • Liaising with clients, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
  • Supporting continuous improvement within the commercial department.

You must currently be residing in England and hold a full UK Driving Licence.

  • Good knowledge and experience of measurement within civil engineering projects.
  • Site travel where applicable.
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Experience using CEMAR contract management software.
  • Experience using FastDraft communication software.
  • Previous experience working within the civil engineering sector.
  • Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent).

Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop practical and innovative solutions while building strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and team members.

  • Communicate clearly, confidently and professionally, both verbally and in writing, whilst actively listening to and respecting the views of others.
  • Adapt positively to changing project requirements and business needs, demonstrating resilience and a willingness to embrace new ideas and continuous improvement.
