Opportunity to join a major scheme during pre-construction
We are recruiting for an experienced Design Manager to join an award-winning main contractor delivering a major £400m+ mixed-use development in Bedfordshire. This is a long-term opportunity on a flagship regional project with an anticipated four-year programme.
The role starts during the early pre-construction stage, giving the successful Design Manager the chance to influence design development, technical compliance, procurement and buildability from the outset. The initial 12-month pre-construction phase will include regular travel to the London office before the project team moves to site in Bedfordshire.
The Role
Working as part of the project team, you will manage the design process from feasibility and planning through procurement, technical coordination and delivery. xgikmsk You will work closely with the client, consultants, commercial team and site delivery team to keep the design coordinated, compliant and aligned with the programme.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate the design process from pre-construction through to project delivery
Act as the key link between the client, design consultants and site team
Review drawings, specifications and technical information for accuracy, compliance and buildability
Coordinate external consultants and monitor performance against agreed deliverables
Support procurement by identifying design requirements, risks and information deadlines
