A permanent position for a Quantity Surveyor based in Northampton, with office work and site visits. The salary ranges from £45,000 to £60,000, plus a car or a £660 monthly car allowance and a discretionary bonus. Employees receive 23 days of holiday, increasing annually to 28 days, in addition to bank holidays. There is also a buy and sell holiday scheme and a pension plan.

The company is an award-winning civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure, groundworks, and associated building services across the UK. This role supports projects across the South Midlands and is part of a strong management team with many long-serving employees who have progressed internally from trainee level.

The Role:

  • Working within the commercial team to support the delivery of civil engineering and residential groundworks projects.
  • Providing technical advice on drawings and ensuring correct project documentation.
  • Managing commercial aspects of assigned projects to maximise value.
  • Completing commercial accountabilities accurately and on time.
  • Analysing rates and prices and agreeing variations or compensation events.
  • Identifying potential debt risks and negotiating financial reconciliation.
  • Supporting the safety team in applying safety policy and addressing concerns.
  • Building strong client relationships.
  • Allocating work to subcontractors and assisting with procurement.

Requirements:

  • GCSEs AC / 59 including Maths and English.
  • Experienced Quantity Surveyor with residential groundworks experience.
  • Good understanding of construction contractual terms.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Confident in analysing data and producing cost value reports.
