A respected family run residential developer is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to support the delivery of two low rise residential schemes totaling approximately 350 units. The projects consist of both housing and apartment buildings up to four storeys. The role spans early stage design through to completion, with a focus on detailed design management and the opportunity for progression as the business continues to grow. Responsibilities
- Oversee the optimisation process from feasibility through to sign off
- Brief manage and drive external consultants to deliver coordinated production information to programme
- Prepare technical specifications aligned with land acquisition budgets and technical and sales input
- Submit and pursue statutory enquiries including crossovers and sewer connections
- Oversee NHBC and Building Regulations applications to ensure timely approvals
- Ensure all working drawings align with the approved planning scheme
- Prepare Health and Safety Plans
- Monitor and control all production information with the Development Estimator maintaining strong cost control against budget
- Oversee preparation of brochure plans, conveyance plans and sales area drawings
- Attend site progress meetings and carry out regular site inspections
- Participate in key project meetings including land and technical handover, project meetings, optimisation sessions and budget meetings
- Coordinate between internal departments, external consultants and site teams
- Attend subcontractor interviews
- Respond promptly to site queries and resolve technical and construction issues
Skills and Requirements
- Developer or main contractor residential experience is essential
- Experience delivering large multi unit traditional build, low rise residential schemes
- Strong technical knowledge of residential construction with an appreciation for design quality
- Working knowledge of Building Regulations, Code for Sustainable Homes, NHBC, Party Wall Awards and related industry legislation
- Strong communication, organisational and team management skills suited to leading multidisciplinary teams
