A highly respected construction company in Hertfordshire are looking for a Trainee Contracts Manager to join their team. This is an outstanding opportunity to work, while the company support (and fund), you through a Degree on a day release basis in Construction Management, or similar. This mid-sized contractor works across a range of sectors, including commercial, community, healthcare, hospitality, and retail - undertaking schemes ranging from £1-15m.

To provide support within the Contracts Management team by assisting with the coordination, administration, and delivery of construction projects. This is an entry-level role designed for a school/college leaver or early-career individual with a genuine interest in construction management, offering a clear pathway into a Contracts Manager role.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Contracts Managers in overseeing day-to-day project delivery.
- Liaise confidently with site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
- Help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Support with preparing and maintaining project documentation and reports.
- Attend site meetings and contribute to effective communication between all stakeholders.
- Develop knowledge of construction processes, contracts administration, and project management systems.
- Build strong working relationships across all levels - from bricklayers on site to senior staff and clients.
- Enthusiasm to build a career in construction management.
- Confidence and ability to communicate with people at all levels - from site operatives to clients.
- Educated to A Level standard (or equivalent) as a minimum.
- Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office).
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly.
- Full UK driving licence (or very close to obtaining).
