This long‑established UK roofing contractor has over 45 years of industry experience, delivering commercial and industrial roofing solutions nationwide. Operating from their Corby head office with additional UK locations, they specialise in refurbishment and flat roofing schemes across Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Industrial and Public Sector markets.
You’ll be joining a supportive and down‑to‑earth team in a period of exciting growth, with turnover increasing from £10m to £15m over the past three years. This role gives you genuine hands‑on training across bid writing, estimating support and business development/sales, before developing into a specialist pathway that suits your strengths. The office has a great atmosphere, plenty of friendly banter, and offers fast‑track progression for someone who’s willing to get stuck in and work hard.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Bid Writing & Quality Submissions (Core Focus)
- Draft PQQ responses and written quality submissions
- Work with technical and delivery teams to gather content
- Maintain bid resources such as case studies, CVs and method statements
- Use AI tools to turn bullet points into polished, professional content
- Assist with quantity take‑offs and measurements
- Support preparation of tender documents, pricing schedules and cost plans
- Request and compare supplier/subcontractor quotations
- Help prepare scope summaries, clarifications and value‑engineering options
- Contribute to roofing and refurbishment tenders ranging from £50k–£3m
- Help maintain and strengthen client relationships
- Support calls, meetings, networking events and occasional site visits
- Assist with qualifying new opportunities and managing tender pipelines
