Opportunity for a Contracts Manager to join an award-winning civil engineering & Groundworks Contractor in Cambridge who specialise in residential housing projects.
Operating across a network of offices, they specialise in infrastructure and groundworks, predominantly in the residential sector, covering most of the UK.
Our client has been founded since 1995 and continues to expand after many years of overwhelming success. They now boast 7 regional offices and a turnover approaching £250m, supported by a strong management team, many of whom joined the company as trainees and have worked their way up.
The role involves overseeing the delivery of groundworks projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and to the highest standard.
Main purpose of the role:
- Organise projects to be delivered safely, within budget and to agreed standards.
- Provide assistance to enable the company to comply with statutory safety and environmental requirements as well as our own policies.
- Ensure all plant, labour and material on sites under your control is properly organised and managed.
- Support the Board in developing new clients and maintaining service to existing clients, securing the long-term future of the company.
The main sites are based across: Central Cambridge, Suffolk/Bury St Edmunds, Essex.
You will be reporting directly to the Construction Director and there are two other Contracts Managers in the region. This region has around 20 sites.
The right person:
- GCSEs Minimum 7 A-C / 5-9 including Maths and English.
- Minimum 4 years experience as a Contracts Manager.
- Experience working on residential groundwork schemes or with a new build developer.
- General knowledge of contractual terms within construction.
- Excellent PC skills, in particular Excel.
