A growing main contractor in Huntingdon has an opportunity for a Pre-Construction Manager or Senior Estimator to join its expanding team. The business delivers new build and refurbishment projects across education, commercial, industrial and public sector environments, typically valued between £2m and £10m. With no Pre-Construction Director in place, the role offers clear progression into a senior leadership position.
This position suits an experienced Estimator ready to step into a wider pre-construction remit, or a Pre-Construction Manager looking for long-term development. You will work closely with the Directors and an established pre-construction team, supporting tenders, early-stage project planning and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities- Lead estimating for new build and refurbishment projects (£2m - £10m)
- Manage cost planning, risk reviews and value engineering
- Develop tender programmes, logistics plans and methodology input
- Liaise with supply chain partners to obtain competitive pricing
- Support bid submissions, tender documentation and client presentations
- Provide early commercial and technical input during pre-construction
- Assist with small maintenance frameworks when required
- Contribute to continuous improvement of pre-construction processes
- Strong estimating experience within a main contractor
- Experience across new build schemes in education, commercial or public sector
- Ability to support programme, logistics and methodology
