A thriving multi-disciplinary contractor with a strong reputation in commercial interiors, refurbishment, and fit-out projects is seeking an experienced Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join their interiors team. The Role:
You will join the successful estimating and preconstruction team, working on refurbishment and fit-out schemes up to £4m in value. This dual role combines estimating duties with cost management responsibilities, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Responsibilities include:
- Site survey and scoping, including scope price build-up
- Preparing accurate cost estimates and conducting cost analysis
- Managing budgets, valuations, and cost reporting throughout the project lifecycle
- Collaborating with engineers, architects, and contractors to resolve issues
- Assessing cost effectiveness and identifying potential financial risks
- PQQ/ITT/ITN support and submissions
- Subcontract enquiry management and procurement
- Adjusting estimates and budgets based on project changes
- Maintaining records of estimated and actual costs
- Liaising with multiple customers and managing departmental tasks
- Producing pre-construction deliverables and enforcing quality standards
- Sharing best practices and aligning with core business values
- Ensuring timely turnaround of quotations and meeting SLAs
- Supporting departmental growth with innovative approaches
The Right Person:
We are seeking an experienced professional with a proven track record in fast-paced construction schemes. You should have:
- Experience in both estimating and quantity surveying functions
- Familiarity with multi-trade estimating
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications
- Strong IT skills and adaptability to relevant software
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Diligence, reliability, and a proactive approach
- Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines
