A chartered building company in Bedford has an opportunity for an Assistant Engineering Surveyor to join their team.
This position provides a strong opportunity for an individual seeking a technically focused role within the construction sector. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in advanced surveying and site engineering techniques, with structured training and development to support progression into Engineering or Construction Management
Based on active construction sites within the company\’s operational region (Bedford, Cambridge, Oxford, and surrounding areas), the role will involve supporting Engineering Surveyors in the execution of precision surveying and site engineering tasks, including:
* Execution of topographic, measured building, and 3D laser scanning surveys.
* Establishment and verification of gridlines, benchmarks, and datums.
* Production of high-accuracy as-built survey records.
* Site setting-out using Leica TS16 or equivalent total stations, including establishment and transfer of survey control.
The right person
* Minimum 2 years’ professional experience in construction surveying, site engineering, or a closely related discipline.
* Formal technical qualification (HNC, BTEC, or equivalent) in civil engineering, surveying, or a construction-related field.
* Proficiency with survey instrumentation and associated software preferred.
* Full UK driving license (role requires frequent travel between multiple sites).
