This is an excellent opportunity to move into a dedicated Junior Document Controller position with an established main contractor delivering projects across the Later Living, Multi-Room Residential and Life Sciences sectors. You'll receive full training, gain exposure to major construction projects valued between £10m and £30m and develop the skills needed to progress your career within Document Control.
The Role
Working closely with Design Managers, Project Managers and site teams, you'll help manage the flow of drawings, technical information and project documentation across multiple live projects. This role is ideal for somebody who enjoys working in a structured environment, has excellent attention to detail and wants to move away from general administration into a specialist construction support role.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update project documentation, drawing registers and document control systems
- Manage the distribution, tracking and filing of drawings, specifications and technical documents
- Support project and design teams with document control processes and information management
- Assist with RFIs, technical queries, design information and change control documentation
- Prepare meeting minutes, reports, schedules and project updates
- Liaise with consultants, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure information is issued accurately and on time
- Help set up project folders, templates, workflows and document control procedures
- Assist with compliance documentation, statutory approvals and project records
- Provide administrative support to project and office teams when required
- Maintain organised digital and hard-copy filing systems
- Build knowledge of document control procedures and construction project delivery as your experience develops
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience in Construction Administration, Project Administration, Site Administration or a similar support role
- Previous experience working within the construction industry
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Good communication skills and confidence dealing with multiple stakeholders
- Competent using Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Outlook
- Experience using document management systems would be beneficial but is not essential
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Keen to build a long-term career within Document Control
