A well-established and financially secure main contractor is looking to recruit a Project Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team based in Bedford. The Role
Based from the Bedford office, you’ll manage the commercial aspects of 2-3 projects simultaneously, with project values typically ranging from £500,000 to £2 million.
Your primary project will be a £2 million Civic Centre Refurbishment in Runnymede, comprising:
- Library refurbishment
- Police station refurbishment
- Council offices refurbishment
In addition, you’ll be commercially responsible for two further projects in Kensington & Chelsea, involving commercial centre and external works projects. These schemes are predominantly local authority-funded and delivered under JCT contracts. 1
The role is office-based with regular site visits, providing a good balance between commercial management and project involvement on site.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement of subcontract packages
Preparing and issuing subcontract orders
Managing subcontractor accounts
Processing subcontractor valuations and applications for payment
Preparing and submitting client valuations
Managing variations and change control
Cost reporting and forecasting
Final account preparation and negotiation
Commercial management of projects from inception through to completion
Working closely with operational teams to ensure successful project delivery
