We’re looking for a full-time experienced Banker Mason to join our workshop team producing high-quality architectural stonework in natural stone. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled craftsperson to apply and develop traditional heritage craft skills within a well-established family business in the Yorkshire Dales, known for quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Key responsibilities

  • Cut, shape, dress and finish natural stone components to exacting standards using hand and power tools.
  • Work from drawings, templates, moulds and dimensions to produce accurate architectural stonework.
  • Prepare a range of stone items including ashlar, copings, surrounds, steps, cills and bespoke pieces as required.
  • Check dimensions, finishes and quality throughout production to ensure work meets specification.
  • Handle and store stone safely, helping to reduce damage and waste.
  • Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in good order and follow all health and safety procedures.
  • Work closely with design, production and site teams to support efficient manufacture and successful project delivery.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in banker masonry, stonemasonry, masonry production or a closely related trade and associated tool handling.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, templates and specifications accurately.
  • Excellent manual skills, attention to detail and pride in high-quality workmanship.
  • A careful, methodical approach to quality, finish and dimensional accuracy.
  • Good understanding of safe working practices within a workshop or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience producing architectural stonework or working with sandstone and other natural stone products.
