We are looking to appoint a General Practice Manager to join our busy and expanding team in Taunton, Somerset. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious professional to take on a varied role, manage their own portfolio of clients, and play a key part in developing our team.

The Role

Reporting directly to senior leadership, this role will bring your background as an all-rounder accounts and general tax practice professional to manage a varied portfolio of clients including sole traders, partnerships, LLPs and limited companies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of clients across a variety of sectors.
  • Review accounts for a range of clients of different sizes across a range of industries as prepared by junior staff, ensuring files are of a high standard and ready for partner review.
  • Support junior team members in preparing accounts in line with relevant accounting standards.
  • Deal with accounting, taxation, and VAT queries as they arise.
  • Manage workflow effectively to ensure deadlines are met and client expectations are exceeded.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with both new and existing clients.
  • Coach, mentor, and support the development of trainees within the team.

About You

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience managing a broad portfolio of clients.
  • Experience leading, coaching, or supervising others.
  • Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
