We are looking for a capable, reliable, and safety-conscious Shunter Driver to join our Yard team.
This is a vital role that helps keep our transport and warehouse operations running efficiently by ensuring trailers and vehicles are moved safely and positioned correctly to meet operational demands.
As a Shunter Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of vehicles, trailers, and equipment across our yard and warehouse areas.
You'll work closely with our Yard, Transport, Dispatch, and Production teams to ensure trailers are available where and when they're needed, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities Safely manoeuvre and park vehicles and trailers within the yard.
Position trailers at loading bays to support inbound and outbound operations.
Carry out daily vehicle and trailer safety checks, reporting defects in line with Vehicle Off Road (VOR) procedures.
Complete trailer movements safely and efficiently according to the daily operational plan.
Couple and uncouple trailers safely when required.
Maintain accurate records of trailer and vehicle movements.
Communicate effectively with the Yard Team, Packhouse Transport Desk, and Dispatch colleagues.
Support other yard activities when required, including Gatehouse, Banksman, or Forklift duties (where trained).
Keep the yard clean, organised, and safe.
