AB Tutoring UK is a growing, values-led tutoring network supporting students to build confidence, resilience and independent learning habits — not just improve exam results. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate GCSE & A-Level Maths Tutor to deliver personalised 1-to-1 online tuition.
About the Role
You will work with students preparing for GCSE and A-Level examinations, delivering structured, engaging and confidence-building lessons remotely. Many of our students are capable but may lack self-belief, struggle with exam pressure, or have gaps in understanding. We are looking for tutors who combine strong subject knowledge with clarity, patience and a supportive approach. This is a flexible, remote position ideal for experienced tutors, teachers, postgraduate students or maths graduates.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality 1-to-1 online Maths tuition (GCSE & A-Level)
- Identify knowledge gaps and tailor lesson plans accordingly
- Support exam technique and revision strategy development
- Provide structured, encouraging sessions that build confidence
- Maintain professional communication and session consistency
- Provide actionable and progress-orientated feedback after each session
Essential Requirements
- Degree in Mathematics or a related STEM subject (or currently studying)
- Experience tutoring or teaching GCSE and/or A-Level Maths
- Strong subject knowledge across major exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR)
- Excellent communication skills
- Reliable online teaching setup
- Enhanced DBS certification (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable
- Experience supporting students with exam anxiety
- Understanding of mindset and resilience-building approaches
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS) advantageous but not essential
