AB Crush Panelcraft is a premier, long-established, family-run vehicle accident repair centre based near Canterbury, Kent. Operating out of a purpose-built 25,000 sq. ft facility, the company is recognised as a leader in the Southeast, holding the BSI Kitemark BS10125 standard and numerous manufacturer approvals from brands such as BMW, MINI, Jaguar, Land Rover, Kia, Hyundai, Nissan, Stellantis and the Volkswagen Group. The Parts Person manages the end-to-end management of vehicle components needed for accident repairs. The primary aim is to ensure technicians have the correct parts at the right time to minimise vehicle "key-to-key" turnaround time and keep workshop efficiency.
Salary
- Base Salary: £27,000 – £33,000 per annum (dependent on experience, skills, and qualifications).
- Annual leave (typically 28 days including bank holidays).
- Nest Company pension.
Key Responsibilities
- Parts Identification: Use Electronic Parts Catalogues (EPC) and technical diagrams to accurately find components based on vehicle VIN and estimator reports.
- Ordering & Sourcing: Obtain parts from O.E.M. dealerships and approved aftermarket suppliers, ensuring cost-effectiveness and prompt delivery.
- Quality Control: Inspect all incoming deliveries for damage or inaccuracies at once upon arrival. Ensure parts match the repair order specification.
- Inventory Management: Organise and label parts for specific jobs. Maintain a tidy and secure parts room and conduct regular stock audits.
- Workshop Communication: Provide daily updates to the Workshop Controller about back-ordered parts or delivery delays that may affect repair schedules.
- Returns & Credits: Process returns for incorrect or damaged items promptly to ensure the business receives proper credits.
- Administrative Accuracy: Input all parts data, invoices, and tracking numbers into the Bodyshop Management System and Audatex.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience: Earlier experience in an automotive parts environment (Bodyshop or Dealership) is highly preferred.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret technical parts manuals and exploded-view diagrams.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in tracking long lists of part numbers and checking for minor shipping damage.
- Communication: Strong professional communication skills for negotiating with suppliers and collaborating with technicians.
- Computer Skills: Ability in inventory management software and basic Microsoft Office (Excel/Outlook).
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Physical Activity: Ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy or bulky items such as bumpers, doors, and engine components.
- Environment: Primarily based in a workshop - stores setting within a busy repair facility.
- Schedule: Typically full-time, Monday 07:45 through to Friday 17:15, with occasional Saturday requirements depending on workshop volume.
