What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using Java as your core language
  • Build and support backend services and integrate with SQL databases
  • Apply best practices in coding, testing, and performance optimisation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

Tech Stack You’ll Be Using:

  • Languages: Java (primary), SQL, Python
  • Frameworks & Tools: Spring Boot, REST APIs
  • Cloud: AWS
  • Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL
  • Collaboration: Git, Jira, Confluence

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in Java development (commercial experience preferred)
  • Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases
  • Experience working with Spring Boot and RESTful APIs
  • Exposure to Python for scripting or automation is beneficial
  • Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms
  • Experience working in agile development environments
  • Ability to work onsite in Newcastle 5 days a week or relocate
