About 9fin: 9fin is the AI platform powering global debt markets — the world’s largest asset class at over $145 trillion. Debt markets are vast, global, and mission-critical, yet still run on fragmented data, PDFs, and manual workflows. 9fin replaces this broken infrastructure with a single platform that centralises proprietary credit data, deep analysis, and high-value workflows across global markets. Today, 9fin powers teams at 300+ blue-chip institutions worldwide, including global banks, asset managers, private equity firms, law firms, and advisors. The business is scaling at exceptional speed, with rapid expansion in the US and best-in-class retention driven by deep workflow adoption.
The Opportunity: 9fin has built one of the most comprehensive datasets in credit and debt markets: news, financials, cap tables, instrument data, legal documents, and ESG analysis. Most clients access that data through 9fin.com. However, a large and growing segment of the market wants to consume our data programmatically to power firm-level workflows at scale. These buyers (quant desks, data engineering teams, systematic investors, risk and compliance functions) will never log into a web application. They need APIs, data feeds, and cloud-native delivery through platforms like Snowflake. At comparable financial data providers, this distribution channel represents 20-30% of total revenue. 9fin is at the beginning of this journey.
The challenge is to turn 9fin's integrated dataset into a portfolio of standalone data products with a coherent commercial strategy. You will define how the data gets packaged, the order in which products go to market, and the commercial models that fit each buyer segment. You will work in lockstep with the Head of Pre-Sales to ensure that what you build maps to how these buyers evaluate and procure data.
What You'll Do:
- Product Strategy & Execution: Define the product vision and strategy for 9fin's external data distribution: APIs, data shares, and future delivery mechanisms. Own the data catalogue decisions, design the developer experience end-to-end, and work with analytics engineering and domain teams to define schemas and data models.
- Data Quality, Infrastructure & Compliance: Partner with the Head of Analytics to ensure data products meet reliability, freshness, and accuracy standards. Define SLAs for data delivery and own the entitlements and access control layer.
- Cross-Functional Leadership & GTM: Coordinate across platform engineering, analytics engineering, and domain squads to align priorities. Support the shift to a solution-selling GTM motion and engage directly with enterprise clients during pilots and integrations.
What We're Looking For:
- 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years building API products or data distribution products at a B2B company.
- Experience designing APIs for external consumers and a track record of shipping data products.
- Understanding of data infrastructure concepts and comfortable with SQL and Python.
- Experience working in a solution-selling or partner-led GTM model.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functionally without a dedicated team.
- Strong commercial instinct and clear communication skills.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with credit markets or how buy-side/sell-side firms consume financial data.
- Experience with Snowflake data sharing or similar cloud data distribution mechanisms.
- Understanding of data licensing or AI usage policies in the context of enterprise data products.
Benefits: Competitive salary, pension with 7% company matching, private medical insurance, paid sick leave, income protection, group life assurance, season ticket and cycle-to-work schemes, hybrid flexibility, 25 holiday days plus local public holidays, one-month paid sabbatical after 5 years, professional development budget, and regular social events.
