About 9fin

The world\’s largest asset class, debt, operates with the worst data.

Technology has revolutionized equity markets with electronic trading, quant algos and instantaneous news. However, in debt capital markets, the picture is completely different. It still behaves like it’s in the 1980s; trillions of dollars of trades are placed over the phone, news is slow, and corporate credit information is imperfect and scattered.

Our mission is to change this.

9fin\’s proprietary technology delivers fast and comprehensive financial, credit, legal & ESG analysis. Our clients are able to make faster, more informed decisions, win more business and most importantly, save time.

Our fast growing list of clients include 9 of the top 10 Investment Banks, leading Asset Managers, Hedge Funds and Law Firms.

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity to join 9fin as Chief of Staff to our COO, Jen Spiers.

This is a critical role for a highly motivated leader ready to deeply embed themselves within our leadership team, amplify Jen\’s impact, and help us execute at pace as we scale the business.

Your role will be varied and fast paced, with the clear goal of driving impact across three key areas.

What you\’ll do

  • Own our operating rhythm & strategy : you will be the engine behind our company\’s operating model, from the annual strategy and goal-setting process to our weekly, monthly, and quarterly rhythms. This means ensuring our cadences are rigorous, our meetings are effective, and our teams are held accountable.

  • Lead strategic initiatives: you will independently identify, scope, and lead high-impact projects on behalf of the COO. This is not about managing a process – it\’s about taking full accountability for an outcome. This could mean launching new global offices, leading a post-acquisition integration stream, or navigating a significant organisational restructure.

  • Elevate company communication: you will own and continuously improve our company-wide communication strategy. Your job is to shape the internal narrative, ensuring our global team is aligned on our strategy, OKRs, and progress. You’ll also be responsible for making sure our company-wide meetings and strategy sessions are impactful and engaging.

About you

We\’re looking for someone who is hungry to take on big challenges and humble enough to thrive in a high-growth environment. You\’ll likely have a background in a similar high-change environment, and a proven track record for:

  • Exceptional organisation: you can effortlessly manage multiple complex priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Influence: you are a credible leader who can guide and influence diverse teams and disciplines without direct authority.

  • A bias for action: you’re proactive, autonomous, and have the stamina to get things done.

  • Driving clarity: you generate momentum and alignment through incisive, plain-English written proposals.

  • Openness to challenge: you can firmly challenge assumptions, while also being willing to accept and execute on the COO\’s input.

  • Low ego: you’re focused on the team\’s success above your own.

  • Clear motivation: you can articulate exactly why you want to contribute to 9fin’s growth story.

Benefits :

Financial & Insurance

  • Competitive Salary benchmarked at 75th-90th percentile

  • Pension (your minimum contributions are 4% with 9fin matching up to 7%)

  • Private Medical Insurance

  • Paid sick leave with Income Protection for long periods of illness

  • Group Life Assurance

  • Season Ticket Loan & Cycle to Work schemes

Time off

  • 25 holiday days per year

  • Local public holidays (with the ability to exchange them for alternative days)

  • Hybrid working model, to allow you the flexibility to decide how, where and when you do your best work

  • Work abroad for up to 3 months a year

  • 1 month paid sabbatical after 5 years of service

  • Enhanced parental leave & flexible working arrangements available

  • Professional learning and development budget

  • Biannual team socials

  • Summer and Winter company social events
