Today, 9fin powers teams at 300+ blue‑chip institutions worldwide, including global banks, asset managers, private equity firms, law firms, and advisors. The business is scaling at exceptional speed, with rapid expansion in the US and best‑in‑class retention driven by deep workflow adoption. We’re at a defining inflection point. With proven product‑market fit and strong, global market pull, 9fin is accelerating toward becoming the category‑defining platform for debt markets worldwide.

Not even three years since inception, 9fin’s private credit coverage is now perceived as the best in‑class source of news and data globally. What’s more, we have enormous plans for growing the scale and depth of this coverage in order to turn the product into a global one‑stop shop for private credit.

The reporter or senior reporter will:

  • Shape this coverage, producing both a steady flow of deal scoops and an incisive series of analyses and commentaries on the market;
  • Work closely with editors, data teams, product teams, sales and marketing to develop the best possible coverage for our clients;
  • Identify and break stories in new areas of the ever‑growing private credit universe;
  • Participate in industry events and moderate conference panels;
  • Mentor junior journalists and become a source of support and knowledge within the team.

About you:

We think the following would lead to a particularly good fit, but if this doesn’t perfectly match you, please don’t be put off applying:

  • You will already have a fabulous source network and a track record of breaking scoops, either within the private credit universe or in a comparable industry;
  • You can demonstrate strong news judgement, with proven ability to recognise scoop potential, pitch off‑diary stories and maintain a content pipeline;

  • You are comfortable with data and finding stories within data;
  • You hold yourself to high standards of accuracy in your reporting and in your writing;
  • You are able to navigate biases and question authority where necessary;
  • You are an emotionally mature individual, able to receive and action feedback, but also able to proactively identify and communicate issues and obstacles for yourself and the broader team.
