The Fixed Income Division is comprised of Interest Rate and Currency Products, Credit Products and Distribution. Professionals in the Division assess and actively manage risk, trade securities, and structure as well as execute innovative transactions in the fast-paced and constantly changing global markets. The UK Inflation desk is the firm’s primary marking desk for inflation linked instruments referencing UK inflation indices. The desk primarily focuses on providing corporate and institutional clients market-making and execution services across products such as inflation linked bonds and derivatives.

What will you be doing?

  • The successful candidate will be joining a team to trade Inflation/Rates products (Bonds, Swaps, Inflation, Options) in the EMEA region.
  • The role will initially focus around learning the various products that the desk trades, later moving into trading flow products, with progression following towards more complex products as experience develops.
  • Acting as market maker for UK Inflation products through relative value trading and hedging services for both corporate and institutional clients.
  • Creating and distributing market information on customer flows, trade ideas and general commentary on a daily and intra-daily basis.
  • Managing daily profit and loss reporting and utilizing highly specialized quantitative knowledge for relative value analysis and valuation and complex modelling of financial data.

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Quantitative bachelor's degree in a STEM subject (Finance/ Maths /Economics/ Sciences or Engineering).
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on numerical analysis, financial modelling, and data science.
  • Strong knowledge of Fixed Income products with a specialisation in Interest Rates.
  • Strong work ethic and daily discipline to make consistent markets for clients and distributed daily information flow.
  • Proven experience of building models for trading and risk management.
  • Demonstrated ability of writing comprehensive trading colour and making presentations on trading ideas and strategies.
  • Excellent networker who is comfortable liaising with clients, sales, traders.
  • Strong people management skills, dealing with infrastructure partners and experience of building trading systems and analytics.
