Position Description

We are currently hiring for an experienced Associate to work in the Equity Capital Markets Syndicate team within Global Capital Markets (GCM) in London.

GCM serves as the nexus between Investment Banking and Sales & Trading, handling traditional market coverage and underwriting for debt and equity and providing customised capital structure solutions for clients.

In this role you will support the team on high‑profile equity offerings in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide significant support on executing live transactions (IPOs, ABOs, Rights Issues, Convertibles, Private Placements), including preparing launch materials, coordinating investor meetings and calls, inputting orders, ensuring internal protocols are met, analysing the deal book and managing information flow within the syndicate and internally.
  • Coordinate across internal and external stakeholders to seamlessly execute transactions, including ECM Coverage, Equity Sales & Trading, Legal & Compliance, and external advisors.
  • Engage with investors on live transactions, collect feedback to help issuers make informed judgments, and share insights with coverage teams.
  • Prepare materials for internal presentations on the business unit, covering broader market themes, issuance volumes and MS performance relative to peers on both an ad‑hoc and recurring basis.
  • Conduct data analysis for the team to assist decision‑making or client discussions, and provide clients with data pulls for their own analysis.
  • Liaise with equity sales, research and trading to orchestrate transactions and discuss sector and stock‑specific trends.
  • Track live offerings in the market, update the broader group and senior stakeholders on performance, and provide market intelligence where appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Top‑class undergraduate degree from a leading university or equivalent.
  • Prior experience executing equity transactions is beneficial.
  • Strong interest in financial markets.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Positive, highly‑motivated, outgoing individual exhibiting strong leadership and management qualities.
  • Strong team player, able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Comfortable working closely with senior team members on time‑sensitive transactions.
