Exclusive Assignment Hybrid Working A senior, asset-led finance role inside an entrepreneurial real estate investment platform. Following the acquisition of a portfolio of operational assets and the launch of a new mandate with committed capital, the platform is strengthening its senior finance capability and hiring a Senior Investment Controller. The business is founder-led, lean and execution-focused. Finance sits at the centre of decision-making, working closely with investment and asset management rather than operating as a downstream reporting function. This is a commercial, asset-led role — built around ownership, judgement and decision support.
The Opportunity
This is a rare chance to step into a build-stage investment platform where the finance role is designed to scale with the portfolio, not sit behind it. You will have direct exposure to:
- Asset-level performance and value creation
- Capex-heavy strategies and operating cashflows
- Capital deployment, liquidity and investor outcomes
- Live acquisitions, refinancings and new structures
The environment is deliberately lean, with limited internal infrastructure. The expectation is that the person in seat acts as a financial owner, anticipating issues, shaping narrative and supporting senior decisions as the platform grows.
The Role
You will take senior responsibility for financial oversight across a growing real estate portfolio, working closely with investment and asset management teams on live assets. Key elements include:
- Portfolio-level financial oversight, including performance analysis, cashflow and liquidity
- Reviewing and challenging asset budgets, forecasts and operating performance
- Partnering with Asset Management on capex programmes and value-creation initiatives
- Ownership of capital partner reporting, with clear, decision-ready narrative
- Acting as the central point of accountability across audits, administrators and external advisers
- Supporting acquisitions, refinancings and new investment structures from a financial perspective
- Helping design scalable reporting, governance and control frameworks as the platform evolves

Profile Sought
This role is best suited to someone operating in a principal investor or balance-sheet environment, rather than a highly institutional or administrator-led structure. You are likely to have:
- A strong accounting foundation (practice-trained or equivalent)
- Experience within real estate investment, operational real estate or hospitality-led platforms
- Worked closely with investment and asset management teams, not in a siloed reporting function
- Comfort taking responsibility in lean environments with limited handrails
