We are working with a global alternative asset manager looking to hire a Fund Controller into its London finance team.
This is a hands‑on fund finance role in a lean team, with direct exposure to senior finance leadership and the wider business. It is not a narrow reporting position; the successful candidate will be expected to take ownership across fund accounting, reporting, audit, tax, SPVs, treasury, liquidity, FX and project work.
The firm invests across a broad range of alternative strategies, including public and private markets, special situations, real estate, private equity, credit and other event‑driven opportunities.
The role will cover:
- Overseeing outsourced fund accounting and reporting across funds, separately managed accounts, co-investments and SPVs
- Managing external administrators and reviewing reporting outputs
- Supporting investor reporting and responding to internal and external queries
- Acting as a key point of contact for external auditors and helping manage the audit process
- Supporting fund‑level tax compliance and working with external advisers across relevant jurisdictions
- Cash management, liquidity planning and FX / hedging activity across the fund structures
- Broader CFO‑led projects, including new investment structuring, technical accounting work, accounting policy papers, process improvement, systems implementation and wider finance function development
We are looking for:
- ACA / ACCA qualified accountant, or equivalent
- Ideally 2–4 years’ post‑qualified experience
- Background in fund control, fund finance, fund accounting or fund audit
- Experience from an alternative asset manager, hedge fund, private equity firm, credit fund, real estate investment manager, multi‑strategy platform or top‑tier audit firm
- Someone technically strong, commercially aware and able to operate independently in a lean, high‑performing environment
This is a strong opportunity for someone looking for a broader fund controller role with direct senior exposure, real responsibility and progression as the platform continues to grow.
The role is based in London, with an initial expectation of 3–4 days per week in the office.
Compensation is highly competitive and benchmarked to the alternative asset management market.
