911 Staffing are recruiting Warehouse Assistants to join a charitable organisation, whose mission is to give people around the world who lack access to books the opportunity to read for pleasure, study and lifelong learning. As a key member of the warehouse team, the Warehouse Assistant will play an essential role in ensuring the efficient receipt, storage and distribution of book donations that make a meaningful impact worldwide. This is an exciting opportunity to join a brand-new team at the charity's newly established warehouse in Swindon, marking a transformative period for the charity.
About the role:
- Monday to Friday - No weekends!
- Day Shift (8am-4pm or 9am-5pm) - 35 hours per week
- Swindon based (close to the town centre & accessible by public transport)
- Permanent role
- Salary is £24,000 per annum

The Warehouse Assistant role includes the following responsibilities:
- Support the receipt, storage, picking, packing and dispatch of books
- Work with other team members to achieve book donation targets
- Contribute to the overall cleanliness and safety of the working environment by following health and safety practices
- Other ad hoc duties as required
Requirements for the Warehouse Assistant role:
- Have previous experience working in a warehouse environment
- Have a collaborative approach to support a positive team environment to enable book donation targets and other KPIs to be met
- Have a full understanding of workplace safety regulations and a proactive approach to ensuring a safe and clean working environment for all team members
- Have the physical ability to carry out duties that involve lifting and bending, and possess a clear understanding of manual handling principles and best practices
- Be familiar using Microsoft Office and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) with strong attention to detail
