About the Commercial Vehicle Technician Role: Monday to Friday, 7am-5pm Potential for flexibility on working reduced / school hours on a pro rata basis. £35,100K PA rising to £39K PA after passing 6-month probation period Swindon based Permanent role Duties for the Commercial Vehicle Technician role: Carry out routine servicing, inspections, and maintenance on commercial and non-commercials vehicles, including heavy equipment, to ensure they meet safety and regulatory requirements. Daily tasks include diagnosing faults, performing mechanical and electrical repairs, completing scheduled maintenance, and documenting all work carried out. The role involves using diagnostic tools, following manufacturer guidelines, ordering or requesting parts as needed, and collaborating with other workshop team members to manage workload efficiently. The mechanic may also support junior colleagues, contribute to workshop housekeeping, and assist with customer queries regarding vehicle condition and repair options. Attend breakdowns and support vehicle recovery when required, including participation in the out-of-hours and on-call rota. Qualifications for the Commercial Vehicle Technician role: Strong Vehicle Maintenance and Maintenance HGV license is an advantage. Previous experience in a commercial vehicle or fleet maintenance environment is highly beneficial. Level 2
