We are currently recruiting for a Transport Planner for a 3 month period (potentially longer) based in the Swindon area.
About the Transport Planner role:
- Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am-5.30pm (40 hours paid).
- Flexible working may be required to cover holidays.
- Salary is £30K pro rata.
- Temporary role - minimum 3 month period.
- Based in Swindon (SN3).
- Immediate start.
Duties & responsibilities for the Transport Planner role:
- Plan, optimise & communicate local and nationwide delivery routes for vehicles.
- Effectively plan loads to vehicles ensuring on-time deliveries.
- Ensure all routes are legally compliant in line with driver's hours legislation, working time directive and vehicle weight restrictions.
- Ensure all operational goals are met whilst maintaining focus on customer requirements.
- Communicate efficiently and effectively with both team members and other departments.
Skills / Experience required for the Transport Planner role:
- Strong planning and organisational skills and the ability to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail.
- A good geographical knowledge is essential.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Previous experience of working in a planning or similar role is required.
- A good understanding of driver's hours would be beneficial.
- Good IT knowledge to include Microsoft Excel, Word etc.
