Minute Media is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Publishing Technology team. If you're passionate about building web applications at scale and want to contribute to platforms that power Sports Illustrated, FanSided, The Players' Tribune, and more, this is the role for you.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the design and development of frontend applications using JavaScript, React, and Tailwind.
  • Build and optimize large-scale, high-traffic sites serving millions of users each month.
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and a globally distributed engineering team.
  • Contribute meaningfully to backend services and APIs; Golang or PHP experience is a plus.
  • Drive technical best practices, code quality, performance, and maintainability across the codebase.
  • Mentor and develop other engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and pairing.
  • Help raise the overall engineering bar by sharing knowledge, setting standards, and leading by example.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, or similar) to improve productivity, code quality, and iteration speed.

Requirements

What You Have

  • 6+ years of professional experience in web development.
  • Deep expertise in JavaScript, React, and modern frontend architecture.
  • Strong understanding of performance, scalability, and maintainability in large frontend applications.
  • Experience mentoring mid-level developers and contributing to their growth.
  • Comfort using AI-powered coding tools as part of your daily development workflow.
  • Bonus: Production experience with Golang or PHP.
  • Experience in digital publishing and with modern CMS products.
  • Strong ownership mindset, excellent collaboration skills, and comfort working in a fully remote team.
