We are looking for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join a friendly and ambitious team based in South Oxfordshire.

  • Part time role, 30 hours per week

Role Overview

Are you a skilled bookkeeper or accountant looking for a flexible and rewarding role in a modern, values-driven, and award-winning accountancy practice? Our client is growing and looking for the right person to join their friendly and ambitious team. This is an opportunity to work directly with the founder, supporting a variety of clients and playing a key role in our business expansion. The role is hybrid and flexible, with the ability to work remotely while attending the South Oxfordshire office (OX10) at least one day per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bookkeeping & Financial Support: Processing sales and purchase invoices, managing bank reconciliations, preparing VAT returns and ensuring compliance, supporting month-end and year-end processes, assisting with payroll processing.
  • Management & Advisory Support: Preparing management reports and financial statements, assisting with financial analysis to support business decisions, supporting cash flow forecasting, helping clients optimise their financial processes.
  • Operational & Client Service Support: Handling client queries with exceptional service, assisting with client onboarding and setup, ensuring compliance and documentation is up to date, improving internal workflows and automation.
  • Supporting Growth: Contributing to efficiency projects within the practice, assisting in the development of our virtual back-office systems.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • At least 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (practice experience preferred)
  • Qualifications: AAT, ICB, ACCA, or CIMA part-qualified (or qualified by experience)
  • Strong understanding of Xero certification is a plus!
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and proactively in a small but growing team
  • A problem-solver who enjoys streamlining processes and improving efficiency
