We are seeking an experienced In-House Legal Counsel for our client, a high-end London based property business on a flexible retainer basis. This role is ideal for a legally qualified professional with strong expertise in contract law, commercial agreements, and dispute resolution. The position will involve approximately 10 hours per week, with flexibility required as workload may vary depending on business needs.
You will provide practical, commercially focused legal support across a range of operational matters, ensuring the business is protected and compliant while maintaining a pragmatic approach to day-to-day legal issues.
Key Responsibilities- Reviewing, drafting, and advising on contracts and commercial agreements
- Providing guidance on terms of business and client agreements
- Supporting with payment disputes and debt recovery processes
- Advising on legal risks and commercial decisions
- Managing or supporting resolution of legal disputes when they arise
- Ensuring compliance with relevant commercial and contractual obligations
- Acting as a trusted legal advisor to senior management on an ad hoc basis
- Qualified solicitor or experienced legal professional with strong contract law expertise
- Proven experience in commercial or in-house legal roles
- Strong understanding of UK contract law and business agreements
- Practical, solution-focused approach to legal issues
- Comfortable working independently on a flexible, part-time basis
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain legal matters clearly to non-legal stakeholders
- Retainer basis: approximately 10 hours per week (flexible depending on workload)
