Role Purpose

The Warehouse Stores Associate is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking inventory and supplies in the warehouse/stores area. The role supports smooth operations by maintaining accurate inventory records, preparing materials for production and shipping, handling specialized picks (including clean room work), and ensuring compliance with safety and quality procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and book incoming deliveries; verify quantities and condition; report discrepancies and liaise with the Receiving Inspection department.
  • Unload and move raw materials/packing items required for work in progress; replenish line‑side stock using appropriate equipment (pallet jack, hand truck, forklift if certified) as needed.
  • Accurately put away items to assigned locations and maintain organised storage areas.
  • Pick work orders for the shop floor and clean room.
  • Prepare, rebox, label, and palletise items for shipping; handle small‑order packaging as required.
  • Support cycle counting and regular inventory audits; reconcile variances and update records.
  • Support and execute replenishment runs between local distribution warehouse as scheduled.
  • Maintain the Consumables Tracker and monitor chemical expiry dates; segregate and flag expired/near‑expiry items.
  • Process walk‑in and delivery queries (purchasing); coordinate with purchasing and receiving teams.
  • Participate in operational or coordination meetings when requested.
  • Adhere to compliance procedures, PPE and safe lifting practices as required.
  • Maintain store housekeeping and 6S standards.
  • Support returns processing, defect segregation, and disposal procedures.
  • Operate warehouse management systems (ERP) to maintain accurate records.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous warehouse, stores, or material handling experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn ERP or inventory application.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Experience supporting audits and cross‑functional meetings.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills; ability to coordinate with purchasing, production and finance.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
